Volunteers at work

We are grateful for any help you can give...

Change the world by enjoying the outdoors

Carrying out tasks in the park, to help us to meet our Aims, can be both fun and rewarding. Meeting with our neighbours, park users and Friends from outside the locality during our Volunteer work days rewards us all with the satisfaction of knowing our beautiful park is being cared for, so that future generations can enjoy what the park has to offer. For over 175 years the park has been a place of enjoyment, be that boisterous or peaceful, somewhere for a quiet moment of contemplation of a rousing game with family and friends. In order to help keep the park in good condition the Friends have regular volunteer work days when everyone is welcome to come along and help.

The Friends carry out tasks in the park such as coppicing and bulb, wildflower and shrub planting, we also litter pick on a regular basis. Our work tends to be at weekends and if you join the FoPP email list we will let you know when we are going to be in the park. Regular updates on the event page and social media (see links below) will keep you informed. We have a number of hand tools and high-vis vests for your use so just bring a pair of work gloves, strong footwear and clothing suitable for working outdoors.

FoPP also have activities such as tree &wildlife walks and picnics which everyone is invited to attend. To join our mailing list please e-mail us here…
